Yako is a Congolese clothing brand created by Georges Dimata.
Yako means "Your" in Swahili to express a sense of belonging for any Congolese or African around the world.Its objective is to innovate in the field of African clothing by offering clothes in the same refined, minimalist, and classy styles as the big brands such as Ralph Lauren or Burberry but remaining attached to Congolese culture and its cultural richness.The brand has more than twenty models in its collections and will be available by fall 2023.
Its visual identity is characterized by many bright colors and this was chosen to remind us of the joy, good humor, and above all the cultural richness present in Congo. Its models have the particularity of including a Luba motif which is one of the many ethnic groups present in DR Congo.
Yako aims to revitalize the world of clothing in Africa and expand it internationally.
